Sweet Potato Fries are always my go-to when it comes to fries. They are also surprisingly filling, so it can be enjoyed as a snack or side dish. Based on your taste preference, a dash of cayenne pepper can also be added for a flavorful kick.
Most potato fries are usually cut into 1/4 -1/2 inch slices. You don’t need to measure these; it does not need to be exact. Mine are usually somewhere in the middle of these measurements, unless I use a Mandoline slicer. If your fries are on the thinner side, please watch them closely in the oven, and cut down baking time by at least 10 -15 minutes or they will burn.
(Hannah) White flesh sweet potatoes can also be used as shown below.

The bright orange flesh sweet potatoes, the ones that are the most common in American grocery stores, are the best in taste for this recipe.
Texture: These are not crispy, but they are yummy 🙂

How To Make Baked Sweet Potato Fries
Description
Sweet potato fries are chewy and sweet, and the seasoning, garlic powder, chili powder, salt, black pepper is perfectly balanced. Cayenne pepper and paprika instead of chili powder work well on these too. Feel free to play with the seasonings to accommodate your taste preference based on typical seasonings used at home.
Ingredients
Instructions
-
Turn on oven and set to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
-
Wash, peel, and rinse off any remaining debris on the peeled potato. Slice up the sweet potatoes into 1/4 - 1/2 inch thickness.
-
Add olive oil and seasonings and rub slices together to allow seasoning to be evenly distributed.
-
Place all the seasoned pieces on a parchment paper lined baking sheet.
-
Place baking sheet in oven and bake potatoes for 35 minutes. Bake for 20 minutes on the first side, and 15 minutes on the second side. Test the fry for doneness, by checking for tenderness on the inside.
If fries are smaller or thinner, bake time will be between 20-25 minutes.
Note
- Sweet potato fries can be reheated in toaster oven/air fryer at 425 degrees for 2 minutes.
