Tasty Homemade Hummus in five minutes or less!

This homemade hummus is simple yet filled with flavor. Honestly, before this recipe I did not like hummus. If I did eat it, I couldn’t handle more than one to two tablespoons, but I put gallops of this one on my plate. The Tahini is just right and not overpowering.

Cooking dry chickpeas at home instead of using canned is highly recommended for the sake of flavor. Homemade chickpeas are flavorful. They can be cooked in huge batches and stored in the freezer for later use. Cooked chickpeas are useful for not just hummus but other recipes as well. If you only have the canned chickpeas available, it can be used as well, just be sure to rinse with water upon removing from the container. Taste the chickpea for salt content and adjust salt for this recipe accordingly.

Hummus can be eaten with just about anything. I often have this with my homemade lentil flatbread. However, it can be used as a dip for carrots, celery, etc. It’s delicious in wraps as well.
