I heard family and people talk about God and Jesus my whole life. I even got water baptized when I was nine years old. However, it wasn’t until a few years ago that I encountered God and fell completely in love with Him.
He’s more real to me now than everyone and everything. My faith is now rooted in His revelation of who He is [not what someone else has said that He is].
I’ve never felt so free, so loved, so protected, so cared for in my entire life as I do now, by the One who upholds everything in this world by the word of His power.

Friends, I went through many things, and it’s by His grace alone, that I’m here today in my right mind writing this blog.
It was over three years ago that the supernatural realm became real to me, before then, I was ignorant of it. (On a side note, thinking it didn’t exist, did not prevent it from affecting me. The only difference is that I didn’t know what living in defeat & deceit was until I started to live in victory. We don’t know we are living in deceit, until truth comes, because truth exposes deception.)
I decided to put aside all I thought I knew and allowed God to teach me His word, to lead me into prayer, fasting, and worship.
I made room for God, and Jesus Christ, the lover of my soul, delivered me and set me free from not just the demonic, but also many strongholds (thought patterns, legalism, and other things that I had learned growing up).
It was all or nothing, so all I desired to know was Him, and all I did each day was rest in Him (talk to him, pray, read the word, worship, and bask in His presence). For about a year and a half that’s all I did. Even though that was some time ago, today, my heart still yearns every day for Him. I don’t want to navigate any part of this new life in Him without Him. I know there is so much more to know and experience with the great all-seeing, all-knowing, all-powerful Living God.
Obedience is better than sacrifice, in all things, including spending time with Him. God brings fire, “God is a consuming fire” but we need to stay in partnership with Him to ensure His flame doesn’t dwindle in us. He doesn’t force us to do anything. He is a gentleman and pure love, so the fire will keep on burning as long as we keep on yielding to Him.
When He calls us away to pray, to read the word, to worship, to praise or to give thanks, or to Fast, it’s not that He needs these things, but we do, I do. I’m not perfect, and I’m learning to and longing to live in His presence; for when I’m beholding Him, nothing else matters but Him.
God is love.
1st John 4:7
And in Him is no darkness at all.
Hello and welcome to A Recipe for Fasting, you are loved!
Vision

The vision for A Recipe for Fasting is to simplify this fast by providing recipes that anyone can prepare, so that many will be encouraged to do a Daniel Fast. The ultimate goal is to spend more time seeking the face of the Lord, and less time figuring out meal choices.
“The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast in those days.”
Luke 5:35
We are in a season of an even greater pursuit of the God of life-love-peace.
Let us seek to know Him, and then we will be capable of performing the things which He has set in our hearts to do.
The Bridegroom is coming back for His bride, He’s coming back for you! Rejoice!
